The McKinney Philharmonic Orchestra is pleased to announce our 2025-2026 auditions. We would like to invite new faces to audition and join our growing and exciting group. Over several years, we have created, developed, and cultivated a unique mission that strengthens the connection of our orchestra with our community while continuing to build an orchestra of high artistic caliber and a robust youth orchestra program, The Greater North Texas Youth Orchestra. www.gntyo.org

We seek professional, established musicians passionate about community building and education, who reside in the North Texas areas, and who align with our mission to share our values and vision with our community. The McKinney Philharmonic Orchestra performs up to 7 subscription concerts, 2 - 3 chamber music series concerts, and several free recital series concerts per season. 

​The MPO compensates musicians on a mission-based tier system with the 2025-2026 rates as $95 sub rate - $119 (tier 1 rate)

Audition requirements
- Prescribed MPO Standard Concerto Solo
- Orchestral excerpts (Provided with an invitation to a live audition) 
- Qualification: a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Music and preferred Masters or Doctoral degree in Music performance or education or an extensive professional orchestral experience.
